Had a delightful dinner at the Bombay Bicycle Club, a restaurant at the top of Kloof Street which is the latest offering from the Madame Zingara guys (their Springbok Shank comes highly recommended, as does their Malva Pudding). I got 3 cookbooks as gifts – clearly my friends sense a need on my behalf (thanks Emily, Andrew, Maddy, Tatum, Shaun and Jody), 1 gorgeous retro glass vase (thank you Jo and Mark), an awesome framed LIFE poster from WW2 that I love from Rei, a scarf from Sarah, a totally rad card, sparkler, chocolates and tub of body butter from Rich and Kath, a case of Stormhoek Reserve Pinotage from Chris, a Moleskine from Jenny and Paige, and R1 000 000 in vouchers from Canal Walk. I still have R250 000 worth of vouchers left from xmas. Tough life. Going to have to work hard at spending them.
Jody's trademark grin.

Lauren and some mildly hysterical-looking chick

The poster Rei had framed and set behind glass for me
Thanks for coming, tribal council. Til next year.
Last Thursday, Rei and I had Theo, Kath and Richard over for dinner. It was super awesome because Theo was down and not working / shacked up with a boyfriend (so we never see her) for once. Theo spends most of her time at St Andrew’s in Scotland or in her native Greece, so it was an occasion to celebrate. Then someone discovered the fish-eye lens and that was the end of that.
Theo and Rich.
Rei and Kath on the balcony.
Me with alien lights.
Les macarons. If you're ever looking for a sweet treat that's just enough, try these melt-in-your-mouth macarons from Cassis in Gardens Centre. Truly - they must be tasted to be believed.

so we had a IG writer’s dinner to welcome some new grasses and get to know some of our current grassing superstars. we made a lot of noise and annoyed our waitress at Bacini thoroughly. Amu, our regional manager if Jozi and the new producer on Sbu’s morning show on YFM, managed to make it down to spend some time with us, too.
it was also Jacky’s birthday. Jacky helps us out all the time. we’re not sure why, but it must be out of the goodness of her heart. so we threw her a little party at the office with some fantastic carrot cake from Limnos, and we gave her this T-shirt. we know she’s been waiting for it all her life.
and then this is just a rad hoody i found on Ricky Lee’s back. Ricky runs a super cool company called Word of Art, as well as a clothing label you might have heard of called Muthaland. he also has a company called writeonafrica, which does commission based graffiti.
